Very Cool Bands

I'm not saying that radio-played tunes are all bad . . . I'm just saying that most of it is geared for the lowest-common denominator of taste. That is why alterna-cum-pop bands like No Doubt can rise to the top of the charts in a matter of weeks after they start getting forcive airplay.

Let's admit it, No Doubt sucks. Why not check into one of the following artists / bands, guaranteed to challenge the way you think about music:

The Catherine Wheel Elysian Fields
The Golden Palominos Jonathan Richman
Peter Case The Balancing Act
Versus Urge Overkill
Mazzy Star Dead Can Dance
Leonard Cohen Tom Waits
Sonic Youth Einsturzende Neubatin
Caterwaul Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Treble Charger Three-Mile Pilot
P.J. Harvey The Dream Syndicate (Also: Steve Wynn)
Rain Parade Hooverphonic
The Gun Club The Gun Club
(Jeffrey Lee Pierce Memorial)
