Cyberink's Electronic Books

"Cyberink E-Books" Contents

Introduction

E-Books (electronic books) are not a new concept. Since 1971, Project Gutenberg has been converting public domain books (via OCR and other technologies) into electronically-accessible texts for years now. These books are often web-viewable -- but lacking HTML conversion.

E-Books, especially those optimized for the web, have many advantages:

  • They are free
  • They can be printed and read non-electronically
  • They can be read on personal computers
  • They can be read on handheld devices (eg., Palm)
  • They are cross platform
  • They can contain cross-linking (for jumping to chapters from tables of contents, or to jump to footnotes for various words, for example)

We hope you enjoy this section -- and even see fit to read one of our provided texts, listed below.
