The Sierra Nevada

I love California's Sierra Nevada mountain range. It may be the most beautiful place I've ever camped. If it was good enough for John Muir, it is good enough for me!

Several times each year, I camp or backpack near the Mammoth Lakes and Devil's Postpile areas. I love to backpack out of Mammoth and then hang out in town during the summer. I hope to soon get to try my mountain biking skills at the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park.

Not far north of Mammoth is the ghost town of Bodie, now a State Historic Park. I've been travelling to Bodie since I was a little kid. Believe it or not, I took the above picture with a cheesy little Canon 35-mm autofocus camera. Of course, a little digital photo enhancements (using PhotoShop) didn't hurt it!
